new HQ in Southampton. Andrew Saunders of ODT Business Interiors is fifth from right in front row.

Faststream, established 11 years ago by its Chief Executive, Mark Charman, has relocated its headquarters to waterfront premises at 30 Channel Way, Ocean Village Southampton.

Mr Charman said:
"The refurbishment by ODT Business Interiors is superb, transforming a relatively gloomy space into a bright, clean and attractive working environment which reflects our values-led corporate identity.

The new and improved headquarters, which we have just moved into, offers the business a solid base to grow into the future and expand on our current workforce of 65 specialist global consultants".

Faststream provides maritime, oil and gas and built environment recruitment from offices in the UK, Singapore, USA and Norway and is widely regarded as the shipping market’s leading recruiter for technical and commercial placements. Roles include chartering managers, shipbrokers, claims executives, analysts, chief engineers, pipeline engineers, naval architects and gas traders.

Andrew Saunders, Sales Director, ODT Business Interiors, said: “This was an excellent contract, awarded by a highly professional company that wanted an inspirational and productive workspace to better reflect its corporate feel".

Having previously completed two projects at the same location, one for international commercial property consultants CBRE, and the other for global accountancy group PricewaterhouseCoopers, the three projects represent a hat-trick worth almost £450,000 for ODT Business Interiors.

When asked for his view on the local economy, Andrew added: “Speaking generally, the office refit market in the Solent region is beginning to emerge from recession after the taps were turned off by the credit crunch 18 months ago. Office upgrades can be seen as a bellwether of the local economy, a visible statement of confidence in the future, so the fact that we’re busy is a good sign that things are starting to improve out there.”
